This week was great!!!!
Tuesday morning we got a
call from our friend Crazy Dave. His friend, Joe was in the hospital and
wanted us to come visit him. We had a good visit and invited him to
pray. On Sunday he ended up coming to church! :) Then, yesterday
morning, Joe called us and told us he wants to be baptized!!!! So exciting! We
have to pass him off to the proper missionaries for where he lives, but we are
very excited for him. :)
This week we taught
Barbara lesson 1 and lesson 2. She got a blessing last week to help her
with her health. When we stopped by she couldn't stop telling us how
amazing she felt after the blessing! When we told her that we have the
priesthood authority, she said, "I don't think I was baptized with the
right authority." Then we invited her to be baptized and she said YES! She
also came to church on Sunday and she loved it. Aaaaand even more, she
reads the Book of Mormon! I love her.
On Thursday we got to
meet our new mission president and his wife--President and Sister Bartlett.
They are awesome people, from Omaha, Nebraska! He gave us two commitments
based on the two things he emphasized. 1. Write in journal everyday. 2.
Exercise everyday. I love that he stressed these two things on his first
day as a mission president. They are both so important for us as
missionaries!
Also on Thursday we met
with Sameayah and set a baptismal date for July 30th. This is probably
her 50th date she's had, because she has met with TONS of missionaries, but we
are working hard for her to get it! We will see...... That night we met
with the Fluckiger family and made a plan of what needs to be done to make it
to the temple. The thought of them going to the temple makes my heart
soooo incredibly happy. :)
Independence Day
happened to be on our P-day this year!! :D We drove to Idaho City for the
celebration! They had a parade that consisted of: Fire trucks, Rangers, a few
horses, fire trucks dirt bikes, and fire trucks. hahaha We caught candy and
also toilet paper and radishes!!! I was so excited because we had run out
of toilet paper and needed some! haha At our dinner appointment, we had
lots of fun with fireworks. Then last night we did a few sparklers at
home. It was a fun day!!! I love holidays. :)
Ponderize: 3 Nephi 27:27
Therefore, what manner of men ought ye to be? Verily I say unto you, even as I am.
Be like Jesus! He set
the example, now we just have to work hard at following him.
From Idaho to you,
XoXo
